Social Housing - Aspern, Seestadt
There is a newly developing district in Vienna called Aspern Seestadt. Seestadt is a planned urban expansion. Its main goal is to be sustainable and affordable. Our task was to design housing on a currently empty plot. The ground floor includes closed bicycle storage, shops and a portico to serve as protection against the weather. My idea was to create units, which can be expanded depending on demand: whether it is a studio apartment or a small dwelling for a family. I wanted to show how modular and variable these units can be.
